How Bags Are Quoted
Manufacturers usually quote plastic bags per kilogram, because raw material is bought by weight. To find your per-bag cost, multiply the per-kg price by the weight of one bag:
Per-bag cost = per-kg price x bag weight (g) / 1000
This is why you should always compare per-bag cost, not just the per-kilogram price.
Key Pricing Factors
1. Raw Material Prices
PE resin prices follow oil and market conditions and change every month, so quotations are updated to match current material costs.
2. Material Type
HDPE (rigid, common for vest bags) vs LDPE (soft, common for flat bags) are priced differently. Food-grade virgin resin costs more than recycled-content material.
3. Size
Size directly affects per-bag material weight. A small vest bag (22x38cm) weighs ~3-4g while a large one (38x55cm) weighs 8-12g.
4. Thickness
A thicker bag uses more material per bag, so it costs more per bag. Finding the optimal thickness is the key to real savings.
5. Printing
Plain bags are the most economical. Printed bags add a printing charge that depends on the number of colors and print area, plus a one-time plate fee for each color. Reorders using the same design do not need new plates.
6. Order Quantity
Every production run has fixed setup costs. The larger the order, the lower the fixed cost per kilogram. Our minimum order quantity is available on request.
